Delta Mitigation Bank Provides Mississippi with Wetland Credits

The Wetlandsbank Group (TWG) is pleased to announce its venture with Delta Mitigation Bank. Delta Mitigation Bank is a 500 acre wetland bank located 2.5 miles South of Tippo, Mississippi in Tallahatchie County. The Bank lies within the Lower Mississippi River Valley in a broad, level, rural area which is dominated by crop production (primarily cotton and soybeans) and scattered tracts of bottomland woodlands, streams and sloughs. The Tallahatchie National Wildlife Refuge is located approximately 10 miles north of this bank.

Delta Mitigation Bank Offers Freshwater Wetland Credits


The service area of the bank is the Yazoo Basin, the largest in Mississippi, and the North Independent Streams Basin. The Yazoo Basin occupies much of the floodplains east of the Mississippi River in the northwest portion of the state. It is important to note however that the service area comprises much of north and northeast Mississippi in land which is not generally referred to as the ‘Delta’.


The Counties within the service area include: Desoto, Tunica, Marshall, Benton, Tippah, Alcorn, Prentiss, Union, Pontotoc, Calhoun, Lafayette, Panola, Coahoma, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Grenada, Tate, Bolivar, Sunflower, Carroll, Holmes, Yazoo, Sharkey, Issaquena, Washington, Humphreys, Leflore, and parts of Chickasaw.
